Nyoman is a world recognised identity in Indonesian Art. Having explored oil paints, pastel and watercolour in his earlier works, he now focuss on watercolour as his medium which suits his spontaneous painting style. Nyoman's works explore the richness of Balinese culture with it's vibrant dances and music, traditional ceremonies and luscious environment, influencing many young artist's in Bali and Indonesia.Considered the "Messenger of the Nation" in Australia in 1984, Mr. Gunarsa has placed in the collections of museums and institutions around the world. Namely; Fukuoka Museum, Japan, Tropen Museum, Holland.He has created numerous monumental works for his own country whilst founding the Museum of Indonesian Contemporary Art in Yogyakarta and the Museum of Balinese Classical Painting in Klungkung. He now is the Chairman of the Association of the Himpunan Museum Bali.
