Portland House. 9.5 x 13.5", reprint of 1867 ed., 215 pp., 100 color plates, New York, 1987. (o.p.; near fine). Item #24881
This is a significant source book for readers. A careful and meticulous reproduction of the original colors are shown. It should be noted that the coloring schemes used by the Chinese are peculiarly their own. In the main these appear as pale shades of blue, green, and pink for the masses, dark pinks, greens, purples, with yellow and white used in smaller quantities.
