Ju ware (also Ru ware), the name given to famous porcelains made at the Sung dynasty Ju kilns, was at the top of the list of those appreciated by literati of the Ming and Ch’ing dynasties. Since porcelains were fired at the Ju kilns for only a short period of time, very few of them have survived. The pieces shown here are from the National Palace Museum, and are among the finest in the world.
