The Lijiashan cemetery is located in Jiangchuan County in Yunnan Province and was first discovered in 1972, when researchers excavated 27 tombs dating to the Warring States period to the early East Han period and unearthed a large cache of burial relics.

Between the years 1991 and 1992, a more detailed excavation took place, yielding the discovery of 60 more tombs and a wide variety of precious goods. This volume is a detailed report of the second excavation, and includes color illustrations of bronze wares, gold wares, jade, stone carvings, weaponry and much more.
